Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how FanzZone ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use the FanzZone mobile application ("the App"). We are committed to handling your information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Information we collect
- Account information. Some of our in-app features may collect your name, email address and any preferences you set (such as favourite teams or events).
- Device information. Device model, operating system version, app version, language settings and a device identifier used to deliver push notifications.
- Usage information. How you interact with the App, such as which notifications you open and which offers you redeem.
In-venue audio tokens and your microphone
FanzZone can use your device's microphone to detect inaudible audio tokens broadcast inside participating venues. These tokens let the App unlock moments, offers and experiences tied to what is happening live at the event.
- Audio detection only runs with your explicit permission and only while the feature is active.
- The App listens solely for predefined audio signatures. No audio is recorded, stored or transmitted — processing happens entirely on your device.
- We cannot hear, capture or reconstruct conversations or any other sound around you.
- You can revoke microphone access at any time in your device settings, and the rest of the App will continue to work.
Face data and AI head-swap images
FanzZone offers an optional feature that lets you create AI-generated "head-swap" and augmentation images using a photo of your face. Because face data is sensitive, this section explains exactly what we collect, how it is used, who it is shared with, where it is stored, and how long it is kept. In short: we do not store your face data or the images it produces.
- What we collect. When, and only when, you choose to use this feature, the App captures one or more photographs of your face using your device camera (or a photo you select). From these photos, our third-party AI provider derives only the temporary facial geometry needed to generate the image you requested. We do not create or store a persistent biometric template, faceprint or facial-recognition identifier, and we never use face data to identify or authenticate you.
- How we use it. Face data is used for the sole purpose of generating the head-swap or augmentation image you requested. It is never used for advertising, profiling, identity verification, or any other purpose.
- Consent. This feature runs only with your explicit, per-use consent. You control when a photo is taken, and you can decline or stop at any time. Camera access can be revoked in your device settings, and the rest of the App will continue to work.
- Third-party processing. To generate the image, your photo is transmitted securely to our third-party AI provider, which performs the head-swap and augmentation on our behalf. This provider acts as our service provider and are prohibited from using the data for any purpose other than fulfilling your request. This is the only third party with which face data is shared.
- Where it is stored. Your photo is encrypted in transit and processed transiently — held only in memory or temporary storage for the few moments it takes to generate your image, then discarded.
- Retention. Face data is retained only for as long as it takes to generate your image — typically a matter of seconds — after which it is permanently deleted from the processing pipeline. We do not keep face data or the resulting images afterwards. The finished image is returned to your device, where any saving or sharing is entirely under your control.
How we use your information
- To deliver the App's core features: notifications, offers and in-venue experiences.
- To personalise content, such as alerts for events you follow.
- To measure and improve App performance and reliability.
- To communicate with you about your account or material changes to the App.
Push notifications
Push notifications are optional and controlled by you. You can opt out at any time in your device settings or within the App. Notification delivery uses Apple and Google push services, which receive a device token but not your personal details.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers who help us operate the App (such as cloud hosting and analytics), under contractual confidentiality obligations.
- Event and venue partners — in aggregated, de-identified form only (for example, how many fans redeemed an offer). Partners never receive your identity.
- Authorities, where required by law.
Data retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, then delete or de-identify it. We protect your information using industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and at rest.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us at the address below. You can also delete your account from within the App, which removes your personal information from our systems.
Children
FanzZone is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email, and the "Last updated" date above will always reflect the current version.
